A little corner of the internet
I’m Gianluca.
Italian-Canadian, based in L’Aquila.
Software engineer. Distributed systems, cloud platforms, and APIs.

I write code the same way I approach most things — I want to understand how it works at the bottom, not just make it run. My stack is mostly Java and Spring Boot at work, Go and Rust when I'm building something for myself. I like solving complex problems with optimal solutions and it all started with a corrupt package on my first linux (Ubuntu 12.04) install now more than 14 years ago.
When I'm not in a terminal I'm a husband and a dad — which already accounts for most of my time. Whatever's left usually goes to football, history, or getting completely absorbed in something with a deep lore.
Fishing and BBQ are next on the list — I haven't started yet but I've watched enough YouTube videos that I'm basically ready. One day soon.
This site is where I put the things I build and think about. A little corner of myself on the internet. Have a look around.
